Signed card - (1914-1982) Top French fashion designer who created his own fashion house in 1945. His early designs were long bell-shaped skirts with small waists which were later coined as Dior's New Look. By 1950 he had opened branches in the United States selling ready-to-wear clothes.

As well as couture, Balmain also designed the iconic uniform of the Singapore Airlines Singapore Girl And created his own label perfumes and designed costumes for movies, working for prestigious clients such as Sophia Loren, Josephine Baker, Brigitte Bardot, Vivien Leigh, Mae West...
