Signed card - (1910-1999) Socialite hat maker famous for her Ascot creations and other wild designs such as the five-foot tall giraffe design, three-foot wide daisy hat...she also created outlandish clothes such as a giant football (in honour of the World Cup), a television resting on her shoulders (for the launch of breakfast TV) etc.

Gertrude was first diagnosed with breast cancer in the 1960s, recovering, later to the first woman to have a breast implant in Britain. Her designs regularly made headlines moreso than her long battle with the disease that eventually claimed her life.
