Signed page - (1887-1979) American hotelier and founder of the Hilton Hotels chain from his first hotel in Cisco, Texas in 1919 he built up a chain of properties, eventually acquiring the nation's most prestigious hotel, the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. Today the firm owns over 2,000 hotels in sixteen countries.
