Bunche - Ralph 01

Signed card - (1903-1971) Prominent African American, politician and diplomat who won the 1950 Nobel Peace Prize for his 1940’s mediation in Palestine, he was the first person black person to win the prize. Later he was involved in the formation and administration of the United Nations.

In 1963, he received the Medal of Freedom from President John F. Kennedy as an active supporter of the civil rights movement. He was also awarded the Silver Buffalo Award by the National Boy Scouts of America for his work in scouting and positive impact for the world and The United States Postal Service (USPS) issued a postage stamp in memory of Dr. Bunche.
