Goldberg - Rube 01

Signed card - (1883-1970) American cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer and inventor recognised for his cartoons depicting complex devices that perform simple tasks in indirect, convoluted ways known as the Rube Goldberg machines.

The recipient of many honours in his lifetime including a Pulitzer Prize and was a founding member and first president of the National Cartoonists Society and is the name sake of the Reuben Award which the organization awards to "Cartoonist of the Year". Goldberg is the inspiration behind the board game Mouse Trap and the forefather of modern day Goldberg Wallace and Grommit.
